Got it glued up and put the first coat of oil on it. Needs about 4 or 5 more then a rub over with some wax.

This will go to the client hopefully by Sunday so I have some room to build the top.

But it's never the first place I look to find it. It's usually about the 10th.

Was watching the cricket on the weekend (The telly is in the front corner) and went to turn up the volume but alas couldn't fnd the remote.

Yesterday managed to clean off the work bench to put the trestle on it and found the remote under a pile of sawdust on the SCMS table. Ah well........

The workshop may get cleaned up after this one ..... nah... got another 'private' commission (freebee) to do. Small cedar coffee table for a mates partner.

Then I might treat the the workshop to a chrissy present (clean up).

    Ray,

It's not watching and working...it's listening for the cheers/groans of the crowd/commentators then you can stop and watch the replay of a POM getting out or being hit by a thunderbolt .

    Then it's back to work....

Been very time poor in the workshop. Doing glue ups during the night (9-10pm).

Anyway finished the glue up of the top pieces so hopefully tomorrow the router sled comes out and flatten and thickness the top.

    The top pieces 300 x 100 x 3000 (there are two of these) and 450 x 100 x 3000

    Howdy TheBleeder,

Looking GREAT pard' but, CRIKKEY! you'll need 3 other mates to help you deliver it or have to plant one of these signs on the front lawn to secure some day labour!

I'm sure your table will be a big hit.

    Buck.
Your not wrong in that is is heavy. Could soon start running out of mates and beer supply is getting low.

Here is another update ...... got the first pass through the router sled. Another pass or two are still required.

    Ray,

It would have made two tops but... The knots holes and birdsmouth cutouts ... just wouldn't work

That section is only 400mm wide and 2.6m long.

It started out at about 90mm thick...by the time I'm finished it will be about 75 - 80mm thick.
