Default New tool cabinet recycled timber table

Gathering materials for two projects currently one a workbench in a other thread and this one a simple tool cabinet I'll build by hand.

I have a walnut dining table that would be perfect to cut up for this tool cabinet but I thought I'd ask here if there's a way I can tell if it's veneered or not. The end grain is covered up as you can see in the photos so its making me wonder of the entire thing is a solid panel of ply and walnut veneers and stained? Can anyone tell from the photos I have taken.

It's had years of use and I was considering restoring it but we've since found another table I've claimed it for the shed.

Of anyone can give me an educated guess that's be great. Even if it is veneered of be able to still use it and sand them back to make into a nice tool cabinet

I’m going to guess that it’s veneered chipboard. It will be easy to tell by peeling some of the edge banding off. Whilst the panels may be useful as something or other, you’re not going to be able to do any traditional joinery with it.

Hmm yes think you are correct. Well I'll bring out the dowel max and make the cabinet quicker than I expected to then
