Default One of my UK kitchens

    Hi,

Kitchens are my main work, all of them are handmade from scratch, from panels and rough sawn timber.
Here is an example of one, its actually a second kitchen in this house more like an entertainment room attached to the swimming pool.

No cooking facilities, just cooler drawers and wine chilling.

The island is the focal point, it has LED lighting under the worktop and plinth

Its European oak and pippy oak.

Sorry about the water marks accross the pictures, did the effect ages ago and now can't remove them.

Interesting that this design, and those on your website, all seem to use face-frame construction, whereas here frameless construction is the preferred methodology.

Also noted your repeated use of pilasters (next to the wine coolers, and in other examples on website) and which look like real toe stubbers. A case of design fashion over functionality?

    Cheers

The majority of UK kitchens are frame less, the reason being is they are cheap to manufacture.
Most handmade kitchens are done with face frames.
As for the toe stubber reference, well thats just ridiculous, that implies that out of the kitchen you are permanantly stubbing your toes on traditional furniture, I suggest you go to a doctor and have your eyes checked.

Yes, most of our customers want their kitchens to look good, is that a crime?

If design didn't exist furniture would be so dull, I am stunned that people hate design so much.

Is your ideal kitchen..... Box, box, box, box, box, box, box......... stunning!!!!

Good or bad. Depends on who you barrack for .If win this series then the overall situation going back to the first series in 1800 and something will be equal .But it ain't over until the fat lady sings .

I'll have a drink for your health , mate (even if I see no reason to get so heated ) - your kitchens are great , and who cares about function anyway? it's FORM that matters!

P.S. Not being ironic , I realy mean it

I'm a great fan of that style of cupboard myself, have done a couple of kitchens that way, and have never had any problems with stubbed toes. In fact, I usually finish the bottom with a skirting board rather than a recessed kick board.
The island is good too, but perhaps not there. I would have liked to have seen the cupboard design theme continued throughout the installation.
