Last two weeks commissions
There is light at the end of the tunnel and I hope its not the proverbial train comming the other way. Once I have delivered this table I have about 4 weeks off, WHHOOooooo.
Last week was an Aust Red Cedar bookshelf with a boxed in cupboard/storage thingy underneath to fill in a gap next to the desk.
This week has been a Tassie Myrtle outside dining table, just have to tie the planks on top together, some sanding and a few coats of estapol then off to beautiful Smogney for delivery. Fews shots, one large Tassie Myrtle slab which the 50 x 70 edge beams and lower H frame were cut from ( also had a dozen 190 x 27 planks for the top timber) The legs are 100sq Blackbutt which I will throw a little very washed out pink stain over so it blends with the Tassie Myrtle. As the edge beam on this table is the frame I will have to leave a little growth space between the boards in the top so it doesn't blow the frame apart if/when they expand. All the main joints are glued and doweled or m & t.
Some of the smaller parts are glued and screwed with brass screws. Giving the AVS AVXL Plus wood glue a run single part crosslinked water resistant. It's been hot and a mission but enjoy every minuet of these projects. Ok some photos, Merry Christmas Everyone
PS the book shelf and the base were made seperatly so the book shelf can be used as a stand alone unit later if the layout changes. The client also originaly wanted a cheap unit out of mdf. I used Fijian Cedar faced ply in place of the mdf for the box at the bottom.
Oh and the table is 2.6 x 1.1

2 x
You're looking forward to a break from the shed and I'm enjoying my first week of uninterrupted shed time so I can continue the world's second slowest build.
:beg: come back from holidays soon so we can enjoy more fruits of your labour.

Admirable work as always Claw.
one thing I like is a large table. I think it's the satisfaction I get from seeing all that expanse of timber. Along with that is the pleasure in, compared to some other work, not having to do a lot to the timber.

They are a popular item, people can see something for there money and for me they are quite profitable. Two little bedside tables with a draw or two or a masive table that all your friends get to sit at, they will pay more for the table.

Some family is going to have a very enjoyable Christmas dinner sitting around that table Claw.

I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
