WIP book cases
I am currently building a set of book cases for #1 daughter and I thought I would post it.
The whole thing is to be made out of Vic Ash, I recently recovered quiet a bit of 100x 35 that was milled sometime ago and was being disguarded.
I recut some with my new BP355 bandsaw (christmas present from the Dragon) and then put through the drum sander to @ 8mm.
the carcass is 1800 x 50x30 which is dowled and has 8mm rebate which I have inlaid with the 8 mm panels.

After discovering i had doweled one of the legs on the wrong side , I had to knock up another one. I finally got the four ends assembled (very busy weekend (shed xmas BBQ).
I also got the rebates into the rails.Last edited by Pappy; 21st December 2010 at 03:29 PM. Reason: add photos

I have attached a couple of photos of my stock, (all rescued from the tip)

#2 Wall racks with assorted timbers
#3 Roof racks, 2300 x 90 x35 vic ash & 150 x45 redgum and origan
#4&5 1900 x 90x 35 quarter cut Vic ash recovered from a renovation at a local uni, these were being used as a false ceiling in the corrodors on two floors I only managed to safe @ 150, thousands ended up in the bins.

.
Finally got some time to assemble one unit, it was a bit tricky lining it all up but it went together without to much drama.
I fitted two corner blocks to keep it square and cut the stock for the shelves.
I have just sat these in, Hopefully I will get time to glue them later this week. (off to the cricket today)
