Default WIP - Boot Box or Snug or Seating

So we all have that bit of space that is no good for anything and just ends up with a big pile of junk (no I am not talking about the back right hand corner of my shed), for us it was the space behind the front door

Constantly accumulating stuff and of course the location of the all important NBN paraphernalia, not really big enough for anything, so I came up with the idea of a boot box a few years ago – drew up 2 concepts and stuck them on the fridge not really thinking beyond that

So jump forward to this year – having to have a bit of time off work and needing something to slow my mind down I thought I might tackle something a bit harder than the usual shelves,
So in true fashion with no real plan and definitely no real idea I cleared out the hole and started with the most illogical piece first the face plate,

Realise that it wouldn’t hold itself there I thought I had better build a bit of a frame to go behind it, then of course it needed to be strong (2 x 9 year old boys will soon destroy anything lightweight)

and yep there’s that mess in the back corner of my shed, this whole build was a project of “what am I going to do now” but eventually bit by bit to came together

For the first time ever I think I used just about every tool I had in the shed, from hand tools to power tools – and found out some I had were pretty handy (This little Bosch saw was awesome)

It got to the point that I couldn’t sleep because I just wanted to keep working on it, to the point I got a message one night “where are you?” to which I replied obviously “in the shed” to only get back “2:00am?”

A few obstacles to get around but that just added to the fun,

SO then had to go back to work – it’s in but not quite finished and I am still trying to work out how I want to finish it off but I am very happy with the end result

The bosses gumboots fit in the box closet to the door and the other side fits the "rainy day" bag - the seat lifts up and there are currently 12 pairs of boots and shoes in there and still a bit of room, all that is left is to sit down have a few of these and contemplate what the top is going to be,
