Hi everyone
I am reinstalling the spindle on my 260 and have become a little confused in relation to the positioning of the aluminium bearing seals. These seals have a cutout in them, which I assumed was to allow oil in to the bearing. I currently have the cutout positioned such that oil can come in through the elbow oiler, and can exit using the smaller drain hole in the bottom of the bearing housing. With the seal set up like this any oil that I put into the oilers immediately drains out of the hole in the casting. As far as I can tell, the oil level will never reach the bearing at all, leading me to think that the seal may need to partially cover the drain hole? If anyone knows how the seals should be positioned in relation to the oil inlet and drain holes in the headstock casting of a 260 ATM, please will you let me know?

Here is how I currently have the seal positioned: (Looking from the left, at the right hand side bearing seal)
