centre for spindle bore
Hi all, I'm a new member with a Hercus model C. I use a 4-jaw independent chuck but I also want to be able to turn between centres using the face plate and lathe dog, but don't know where to get a centre to fit the spindle bore from. Obviously they are a lot bigger in diametre than tail stock centres. Anyone know when they can be obtained? Are they expensive?
Thanks in advance,
DavidG

they are a morse taper number 3 should be able to get them at most machinery suppliers or off the internet the tail stock end is mt2 you will need a fixed one for the head stock end and a "live "centre for the tail stock end . when i got my live centre i found lots had realy poor bearings but i eventually found one that was good about 60 dollars if i recall i got mine from http://www.toolmansa.com.au/SiteMgt/...SitePageId=102 these guys have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to tools
