I have bought flat belt and joiners at Geraldton Ag services so I imagine you should be able to get them at an agricultural supply shop in the big smoke

Any engineers supply should be able to get you one. You can get the endless too, which is better if you are ok with pulling out your spindle.

An alternative to a leather belt is a Poly-Vee belt.
One has worked well on my flat pulley 9A for a long while now. As it's endless, the main spindle needs to come out to fit it.
I first had a problem with it slipping, because I took someone's advice to run it inside-out, so the flat side was against the pulley faces.
That's wrong, as it's also the slippery side. When used with the ribbed side on the pulleys, it grips much better. Also, importantly, no wear has been induced by having the narrow ribs against the pulley faces.
I couldn't find an automotive serpentine belt that fitted, so bought an industrial one. It was a little too wide, but easily fixed by cutting off one of the ribs.

The Belt.
Hi Steve,
This maybe a silly answer, but what about a Leather Worker who makes Men's Belts for our Trousers..
I know, I use a belt that wood really do the job, but I'm not sure of the length.
Sorry, but I use mine.Regards,
issatree.
