Gib strips
What would be a good material to make new gib strips out of, I was thinking of 1/2 x 1/8 bright mild steel flat or brass? any suggestions.
Many thanks garry

Either would probably work, although the Brass might score more easily than steel.
If useing steel and machining anything off the thickness you may run the chance of warping.

Hi Garry,
I have read on the internet from people in the US with small lathes and mills, about using half hard brass for replacment gibs.
