I went to remove the headstock on my model c with cast iron bearings today.

I did a lot of reading about the method and was prepared with a hammer and hardwood.

I did everything suggested but when I went to knock the headstock out, it came out with a bump of the hand?

I checked all surfaces and they all look good.

It does leak oil from the front bearing though.

Did I just get lucky with the removal or would it be because of wear?

It snugs back up nicely and seemed to run nice and true whilst not getting hot.

Cheers
Andrew.
