I have a bad habit of placing tools on the headstock of my 260. As I'm not about to give it up, I made a tool tray to prevent a nasty accident. Make a 10mm MDF base first and drill 3mm holes at suitable locations. Use the base as a template to drill 3mm holes in the headstock lid. Enlarge the holes and tap M5. Make 4 brass pillars with M5 threads and 6mm stubs. Enlarge the 3mm holes in the MDF to 6mm. Add sides to base. I will line it with thin rubber to stop the tools sliding around. It fits snugly enough that it doesn't fall off when the lid is opened. Obviously you need to remove the tools though!
