Hercus 260 quick change tool post and tool size
Hi guys,
I知 pretty new to all this, so apologies if I use incorrect terminology.
I致e just bought a Hercus 260atm and I知 going to install a QCTP. I知 thinking I might get the one from Ausee Machinery linked below, but it値l only take 12mm tools. I was hoping, however, to use indexed tools with a 16mm shank; I知 not sure why, I just thought the larger shank would be more rigid and provide a better cut.
My question is; is there any issue with using 12mm tools or should I look for tool holders that値l accept a larger shank? What size is best for the Hercus 260?
The measurement from the Centre of chuck to compound slide is 30mm so I知 pretty sure the Hercus will accept larger tools.
Thanks for any advice,
Shaun.
