    Default Hercus 9" vs hercus 260 ????????

Hi all does anybody know what parts interchange between the 9" and the 260 Lathes ????

As I am or was under the belief that the 260 was a overglorified 9" with a higher Centre Height

The reason is I have somebody chasing Change gears for a craftsman and do not want to send if the gears are different ???

So can anybody help out as I have never played with a craftsman on 9" lathes but the internals are supposed to be the same ???

I hope someone can shed some light on this as HERCUS has 260 parts still expensive but new and a lot fit the 9" ???

    anybody got any ideas ????

    all the best Derek bitza500

The change gears for Hercus 9in and 260 lathes are the same spindle size, width, and PA (pressure angle). I am not sure if the Craftsman model is different, unlikely but perhaps the PA is different. I have read that Hercus and SB gears are not interchangeable for this reason.
