    Default New Hercus Owner

    Hi all,

I am a new member I have just bought a Hercus Lathe on eBay. It is in excellent condition and its serial number is CR14187. Iwas told by the seller that it is a C20 model. Can someone tell me when it was manufactured? I am not a metalworker but am looking forward to "playing" with it. Cheers Mr Santa

On Drummond's information page, it is a 1972 model.
The "C" is the model type, ie no gearbox or powered slide.
The "R" means it has a tapered bearing headstock.
You can find heaps of info on this blog, you machine sounds like a later
    model.
Maybe you supply some pics to discuss any further features.
    Regards,
    Peter
