    Default Hercus sticker-waterslide?

Being crook, has slowed the restoration process down considerably, but I'm determined not to be beaten.

Half my restored 9" Hercus sits in the lounge room, what better place? The other half sits out in the garage, waiting for the kiss of life.

I have prepared some artwork for the Hercus logo, and ask, is the waterslide sticker system, the way to go? Apparently this particular medium can be printed on with an inkjet printer, cut to size, dropped into water, then applied to the metalwork after a quick spray of clear.

Apparently this stuff comes in A4 sheets in either clear or white.

Had any experience with this stuff, and making your own logos/stickers?
    Your knowledge will be appreciated.

    Ken

    G'day Ken,
My missus bought some of this paper and it seems to work briliantly.
Just print your artwork on your inkjet printer, cut it to size and it works just like the old waterslide transfers.
She bought the paper from the US as it worked out a lot cheaper. I think she got fifty sheets for around US$25 delivered. I can check the details if you like.
    Cheers,
    Greg.

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for the info. Would like to know where in Melbourne this product can be purchased, from a store.

    Hi Ken,
Not sure where you can get them in Melb, I asked the cook and I was a bit wrong, it was AU$100 for fifty sheets from the US. I'm in Melb so if you only need a sheet or two you can swing by and grab them or I can post them to you.
    Cheers,
    Greg.

G'day Ken, hope you're feeling better. You can get it from pretty much any hobby shop and it generally comes in both A4 both A5 sheets there from what I've seen.

Many thanks to Greg for slinging me a couple of sheets of decal material.

Most impressed with his home workshop setup, puts a small engineering shop to shame.

    Well done,

    Ken

I'll be interested to hear how it goes Ken. Don't know how water slide will work with bubble jet ink though. As soon as you get water anywhere near that ink the stuff runs everywhere.

    Hi Pete,

The trick I believe is to spray the waterslide decal with a couple of coats of clear, after the ink has dried. When the clear coats have dried, cut out, imerse in water, then apply.
