Hercus parts in Sydney?
Hiya,
I am looking for a few parts to progress with my Hercus 9C rescue.
It is missing a lot of parts, but the basics are there, I bought it for next to nothing, I could use it for basic machining with a little bit of work, but without some investment, its not going to be a screwcutting machine.
Some of the missing stuff I can work around for a while but the main thing I need is a leadscrew (8TPI for Imperial) the leadscrew support bracket (headstock end) the banjo bracket and the change gears. I intend to run 3D printed change gears to start with, but plan to accumulate the most used gears as I go. I also may consider an electronic feedscrew project but I can do neither without the leadscrew.
I have spoken to Mal at AMH (nice bloke to talk to) and will likely end up getting what I need from him, but thought I would ask here first in case someone has something local. I also called the fellow in Summer Hill but he wasn't sure what he had and it sounded like the stuff was difficult to access at the time, he tended to point me towards Mal.
Thanks for having a look.
Steve.
