Howdy all,

I'd wanted to add the optional belt guards to my 1968 AR machine (P drive) for a while - so I was delighted to find a set.....even though the side guard needed some fibreglass repairs to be done, before instant gratification was available.

Bunnings supply a cheap fibreglass kit, and I got some PVA release agent elsewhere to help form the repair inserts. What fibreglass didn't end up sticking into me - ended up forming a respectable repair in the end, with a couple of extra layers of sheets added to provide better support for the two new mounting holes.

My machine was initially supplied to a local teachers College manual arts department, and it appears to still be in its original light metallic green paint - that I assume was the local requirement back in the day. A car paint shop did a reasonable match of the paint in a spray can.

At the same time I've changed some gears for metric thread cutting and installed a new cross slide and back nut to remove the regrettable play.

Regards,
Rhys
