Quick Change Gearbox Problem
I had some problems today trying to change settings on the QCG on my 9A Craftsman.
It was impossible to move the change lever from one setting to another and then I saw that the lower shaft of the gearbox had 4 to 5mm end float.(see attached)
Any ideas how to rectify ths problem?

The quickest way to rectify your problem would be to sell me your Craftsman. My favourite Hercus.
The next best way would be to search this and the metalwork forum for a thread posted a while ago that shows the dissection of a 9" gearbox. It could shed some light on your problem.

Thanks for the reply.
After searching and reading the threads it seems a taper pin locking the shaft to the QCG housing has sheared.
The question I have is:
Is the small end of the pin on the front of the box so that I can drive it through?

PS. My son has laid claim to the Craftsman, and as he chooses the Nursing Home I hav to agree!!!!
