I have no idea what AM relates to at the moment. It has "Model AM" on the feed gear box plate.

I would love to find out some more info about the lathe such as when it was made etc, but from the searching I have done not much has turned up on sheraton lathes.

The backgear can have a replacement gear fitted to either end.

AM should represent A= Gearbox.M= Metric.
