Second attempt at inlay
Made this one for my partner who is having a birthday soon. It is made from Radiata Pine & blackwood or I was told it was blackwood It came from a drawer front I have had for years .The timber is very fine & has a dark chocolate colour. the bowl piece was turned on my lathe. Cheers Peter.

Very well executed. Does the inlay go right through the lid or is it a veneer in a shallow recess?

It is cut on a slight angle ,this one I think was about 2 degrees but it all depends on the timber thickness, blade size & angle of cut. The inlay goes right through the lid but also stands a little proud of the top to allow for sanding back. I usually have to make several test cuts first to get it just right
