    Default Blade lubricant

Hi just wondering if anyone can suggest a suitable blade lubricant for scroll saw. Would like something that can be purchased in Australia? There are some available in the US in the form of a stick lubricant at a cost of $7 but they want (can you believe) $57 postage on top!!!!
    with thanks,
    Brenton

Using wax to reduce friction, which will undoubtedly get hot while cutting, will there be any problems with water-based finishes? The heated wax won't go into the surface of the timber?

yes thats why I don't use lube on my scollsaw blades. I guess if no finish is used itn won't be a problem. I have cut quite a bit of Aussie hardwoods and never saw the need for lube on the blades, even on thick pieces

Thanks, Pete. I don't plan to use it myself - like you I cut mainly hardwoods and haven't had a problem, but was just wondering. (I use water-based WOP.)
Probably better to turn the speed down a little when heat is an issue.

I should have added that I use beesway (or an old candle stub) when cutting ali and othe metals with the scrollsaw as it cuts much better that way
