    Default Carousel Horse and seahorse

My niece is having a kid so I made a few puzzles for the one to come.
Both from one of the latest mags about.

That carousel horse puzzle came up great, Peter. The pyrography hair and painted saddle etc is a nice touch. A good combination of skills.

I like the seahorse, too. Looks like gravity plays a big part in that one.

    Which mag, out of interest?

    Ta Steve,

    Scrollsaw woodworking # 47 Summer 2012.

Need a nice flat table to stand the seahorse.

And I still have not made the puzzle box thats on the cover, which is what I got it for.

Wasn't sure about painting the hooves black??

I'll have to see if my newsagent carries that magazine. Probably, they have a good range. It's time I gave the scrollsaw another good workout.

I'd paint them black, but my judgement isn't the best on that sort of thing, as you know. By tomorrow I'd probably like them better as they are, then the following day I'd like them black again.
    See what others reckon.

I Think the reason I didn't is its all one thickness, would look ok from the side but it means the hoof is as wide as the body from the front and that may have looked a bit funny.

Hey, its a puzzle for a kid so Its going to get dropped, chewed, slobered on and thrown.

If you did want to paint them black, perhaps just the sides?

I love the carousel horse, perhaps 3 or 4 put around the babies room in different colours would look amazing.

    Couldn't agree more. Looks fantastic.
