Default Some very small cars and a boat...

    G'day all,

Hope everyone is coping with this covid stuff, especially those in Victoria (where I am). The restrictions on travel mean I am spending more and more time in the garage on the scroll saw.

The little cars were cut from left over cypress, 19mm thick and cut with FDSR #5 blades, some clear coated, some painted. They are about 3 to 4 inches long and an inch and a half to 2 inches high with 3/4 inch wheels.

The boat was cut from some 19mm tassie oak and 4mm marine ply again using FDSR #5 blades for the boat and #3 for the ply. I ended up painting the bottom part as I mucked up the cutting and sanding but left the top natural. Covered the whole thing with 4 coats of marine grade clear, sanding between each coat. Best part is the boat floats .

Got 3 or 4 other things on the go as well and will post pics when done.

    Cheers, Graeme

Well done on the scroll work. Boat and cars. We are well off in NSW but have some knowledge of what you are going through because we have family down there. I do think that scroll saws have big part to play when the chips are down keeping us sane. I know it has for me. Keep on the good work and lets hope we are coming to an end of all this

    John
