Compass
Which one do you like more?
I already have made compass pattern, but I like nautical projects, so I made one more. This time I combined compass with steering wheel.

i like both versions but don't like the fact that the NW indicator and the SE indicator are the wrong way around in my humble opinion

The LH one unfortunately is incorrect; there is no "WS" or "ES". You've also divided it into 24 points when a compass has 32.
They look very pretty, just if you do sell them make sure your market is far inland...

Just goes to show how my memory of compass points has faded just a little. I had it in my mind that there were points like SxSW but it's been a while since I did anything much with a compass. Thanks for the refresher Chief.

It was part of my school syllabus! My last three years of school were at Hull Trinity House Navigation school where for the first two we had to study Seamanship as an “O Level”. It was a little outdated… compass points, morse code and sextants weren’t much in use by then but I still remember fairly big chunks of it.

I was studying to be an RO back in '67 or so but then the "Noongah" went down with one of our class on board and I lost interest in going to sea in small ships. Navigation was only a minor component of the course but we had to be able to work out where we were if we were in a lifeboat.
