As to delays - don't know to say, but it wouldn't surprise me at this time of year - there is a huge amount of work for them to get ready for the show - they take a significant amount there, plus their pre-show sale.

Sure they won't stiff you though.

I sure hope they won't....... I'd be really disappointed not to get this saw. Was hoping thos that whoever bought one first would come here and tell us if it's allright.....

I have an unexpected accident with this new Delta. I used it for about 2 hours and then I wanted to change the broken blade. I looked under the working table and found that I couldn’t tighten the bolt with the key !? As I found out that the square metal nut with holds the blade under the table was broken in two parts. I was very upset because I have hardly used the saw and changed the blade only once. As I do not have any warranty or a support from Carba-Tac, I need to find exactly the same nut. Do you know where I can buy it in Melbourne ? Probably it is useless to ask at Bunnings for such a rare part.

I have a spare nut if its the square nut that is part of the bottom blade holder

Anatoli I'm so sorry to hear that.... if it's the square nut on the left side of the bottom blade... any fitter/turner should be able to make you one.
We had our saw about 3 months when I broke mine.. overtightening can cause this. We used steel for the replacement and I haven't had a problem since. Think the original was cast iron.. something... not sure about all the differences ( that's what husbands and club members are VERY good for )

This afternoon we ordered the third one of these saws..... amazingly they still had some left ( maybe there's a nest they haven't told us about?) .... they still hadn't shipped the one we ordered last Wednesday, or the one we ordered Monday. These saws are that well liked in our club that the second of our new members decided to get one too. The first one had bought a Ryobi , the other one a GMC just a couple of months ago. Both came equipt to handle pin and pinless blades.... but it was so akward to use it took all the fun out of scrolling finer things.... so they gave in and did what they should have done to begin with...
Now we'll wait..........................

got mine today and same thing happened, found a nut to get me going again until i can get a proper one made , but even worse after 20 minutes running i started to smell something burning and when i felt motor it was red hot , everything seemed to running smoothly so i assume its in the motor ,carbatec want 115 bucks for another motor so im . trust this to happen when buying a no warranty item

Our friend Ryanclan mailed me that nut and I changed it. But I do not know for how the new nut will last. It is not a coincidence that 2 nuts were broken at two machines. Now I have 2 Deltas and I put them together to compare. Very soon I found a huge difference in their performance. The old 9 year old Delta works much better and it is much smoother then the new one.
I used to lubricate the old Delta every 3-4 months but the new one is out of the box and it is still wet !? The new Delta is very noisy and I am a bit scared that it can blow up any time. I haven’t checked the temperature of the motor but I wouldn’t be surprised to get the same result with so strong strokes. I am waiting for the other tests of $250 no-warranty Deltas.

anatol ,check the 4 big phillipshead screws that hold the motor on , mine were all very loose .asked a auto elec about the motor and he said some do run very hot .i left it on for 15 minutes and couldnt hold my hand on it maybe someone who knows a bit more about motors has an idea ,ill just leave it i think and if it blows then get a new one . ive had a 20 inch delta for 7 years and no probs whatsoever mighta just got a lemon

I was told that the Deltas made in Tiawan where much better than those made in China. I gues this has just surfaced. When I had my Delta I pushed rubber wedges between the motor and the bottom and side castings. This supported the the motor and made quite a difference to reducing vibration.

The two scrollers at our club used their new saws all morning.... nothing broke ( but they're ladies..... so maybe didn't use as much muscle tighteing? )
The vibration on the saws wasn't any worse then on my old one.
The only thing both of them complaint about was that even on low speed it was too fast.... and we compared to the other 3 Deltas in use at the club .... yes.... theirs are much faster.
Motors were not overheating ..... tho ... keeping fingers crossed

My first Delta is 4 years old , even back then we were told by everyone that you have to grease them and tighten the bolts before use. My motor was loose!

Would appreciate hearing how everyone else is faring with these machines

by dropping speed back until machine is running sweet, this stopped a lot of vibration ,noise and also no more overheating ,still seems to cut ok at a slower speed

I have my old Delta going full speed most of the time because I found that slow speeds vibrate much more.....
These new ones..... well like I said we can't seem to turn them down much... my old one can be turned down really low..... these ones the lowest is still about the speed of my old one going at about half speed.
Don't know if that's the problem they were having with the variable speed control ( supposedly fixed?) or if this is the were they were made in China?
