Dilemna - Scrollsaw Out of stock
I have a project - a piesafe - and I finally decided to do some scrollsaw panels in it. So I am now looking to add a scrollsaw to my workshop, which will open up lots of other projects for me as well.
I am studying part time and now the study year is ended, I am keen to get (re-)started on this project.
Looking through this forum, I decided on the Delta 40-540, but apparently they are out of stock at Carbatec (Melbourne) and will not be available till anywhere between Mid December to Mid January.
My dilemna is whether to wait for the Delta's to arrive, or spend more and get something else, and if so what? Your thoughts will be appreciated.
Regards
Sandra

I have the same dilemma, though Carbetec (Melbourne) told me they would be in on the first week of December,
My 6 month old GMC has already been replaced twice and doesn't come up to scratch now I am getting into more detailed work,
Don't get me wrong, it was a great machine to learn on and already paid for itself 3 times,
If you are right Sandra about the wait, I may have to look at some alternate options as well.
Itching to get back into it

We also have the same problem with supply as we have a few on back order and frustrated waiting for them.
Have also been advised that we should see mid december as long as customs dont decide to have an early xmas.

We had a couple of customers interested in the Delta and send them to your site, Jim. They told us they couldn't find anything but Hegners.
Maybe you could post some note on your site so people know that you do sell them.... eventually?
Sandra and Rod, I know it's a long wait for a saw, but I'd wait ... sure saves a lot of money and that little Delta is a fantastic workhorse. I use mine several hours a day and the only thing it's done in two years was throw a spring at me. Thanks to the guys at our club that was fixed a few minutes after it happened. Plus.... from what I hear the price went down! Can't beat that.
Oh... and Rod... you have no excuse... you KNOW you can come down to the club and use one of our Delta's whenever you're not working. Remember Monday from 5 o'clock , Wednesday from 9 and Saturdays from 9.
If I remember right there's one of those orange beasts down there too if you want to have a go at one.
