    Default Dust Blower Tubing

I have been trying without any luck to obtain some of the dust blower tubing that is common on many scrollsaws.

The one I need is made up of a number of small black units which clip into each other to make up a tube which is rigid yet can be bent to stay near the scrollsaw blade.

If anybody can help me find this tubing it will be appreciated.

    Reg.

Gday Reg, the stuff you are talking about is called segmented hose, the original manufactuer is Loc-line.

It's available from Blackwoods & Gasweld, & maybe machinery dealers like Hare & Forbes.

The latest GMC scrollsaw has two segmented hoses like you're after, maybe contact GMC & suss out how much that would be as a spare part too.

Maybe consider using the same stuff but rigging it as a vacuum hose, better for your lungs & eyes.

I bought a 1/2" hose at a recent trade show for this purpose but am yet to set it up on my scrollsaw.

    Cheers................Sean

    Hi Sean
Thanks for your responce and advice regarding the vacuum system
I wanted the hose for that reason as i already had a vacuum system set up however while it worked o k it was very floppy and was very difficult to set up where it was needed due to its loosness hence the reason for the semi ridgid advice request
I obtained the modular hose and after setting it up the results can only be described as 100% efective when i cut a piece of 3/4 thick MDF with a number 9 spiral blade (and we all know how much dust these blades create)
there was hardly any dust on the top of the table or below the table for that matter
My biggest problem was how to mount the system and i came up with the following idea which keeps the whole unit ridgid
    Regards
    REG

Try industrial supply businesses or nut and bolt suppliers ( possible that business does both anyway), as they are commonly used for coolant delivery and similar functions. Available in a couple of bore sizes, but if you want to use for a vac line to suck dust, either get the very large version, or arrange with a secondary inlet as vac cleaners/dust collectors need largely unrestricted air flow.

I bought mine at Mann's a couple of years ago.... expensive, but works fine.
    Also Harris Traders sells them.
