    Default Excalibre

I was in Carba tec the other day and they have the excalibre for $895 now. Wow thanks to the dollar they have certainly come down a fair bit haven't they?

Was in Carbatec a month or so ago and saw this little beauty. Whilst I have no exposure to scrollsawing other than the most basic of things (cutting out single shapes, etc.) this unit looked like a real beauty and well worth buying! Even for those things that I would normally do on a bandsaw but doesn't require the size of one. May consider purchasing one in the future, even if it's just for odd jobs. Very versatile (and a hell of a lot better than the little Ryobi currently in the workshop!)

How much were they before the improvement of the dollar?

They were over $1000, so they are definitely a bit more afforable now.

I have just come back to the computer after finally finishing a pine moneybox that I am using as a savings fund for an excalibur scroll saw, so far I have $16.

I read this thread and just had to respond...

If you check out CarbaTec's 2010 catalog you will also notice that they are now stocking the 30" for the same price as what they were selling the 21" for....

I wanted to get a Dewalt scrollsaw but they no longer ship them to Australia, so I have spent 12 months looking at the excalibur and think it is great... Can't wait till I can get one.
