Default Excellent Service - Helen Harris

I sent an order for 13 packs (variety of types & sizes) of Scroll Saw Blades from Helen Harris late on Monday night.....was advised the next day that the blades had been posted.

Received them today...very happy with the service and price. I was more then happy to pay the Invoice as soon as I got home from the Post Office.

The BIG GREEN SHED had 1 pack of Ryobi brand standard teeth last weekend so am pleased to find a supplier that have great range , price & service.

There will also be a huge improvement in quality of blades over the Ryobi branded ones ..... You will not go back.

I totally agree with this. I have a Scheppach machine and am new to scrolling. I knew that my slack of kill was going to let the package down, but I wasn't expecting the standard blade to be so ordinary.

After buying a variety of blades from Helen (which like Skot says - the service is excellent) I tried some out today. WOW what a difference! The 'Flying Dutchman 2-way' blade is fantastic. A very smooth cut and curves are way easier to follow, even with the #9 size blade.

I also got some pinless blade adaptors off woodworking.com.au to allow me to use the larger range of pinless blades.

Now I'm very happy with the Scheppach, and in just one hour this afternoon I think I quadrupled my skill and confidence.

(Off topic, the only complaint I have with the Scheppach is the location of the dust extraction port. Why the hell have it coming straight out the front - right where you sit??!!).

I got my first "Flying Dutchman" blades a while back and you are correct, a huge difference. I have already ordered more and included in the order some spiral blades to try out. In the U.S. we have Mike's Workshop to order from and the service from Mike is above and beyond.

I'd just like to say "thanks" for the recommends for Helen Harris and the Flying Dutchman saw blades.

After reading about both here, I sent an enquiry to Helen that was answered the next day, along with a copy of her catalogue. I then placed an order, which was filled the very next day even though she and her husband were away from home. AND, she went to some trouble to work out the cheapest mailing method before sending the order on its way. But what surprised me the most was that she filled my order without asking for any payment up front. Now THAT is customer service! Needless to say, I made an EFT payment immediately I received my packages today (having ordered on Thu).

As well as blades, I ordered a foot control switch from her. This is a Proxxon brand and seems to work very well with my Excalibur saw. I haven't tried the FD blades yet (the package only arrived today), but based on comments here, I know I'm going to love them.

Thanks again for the recommends folks, and Helen, if you're reading this you deserve every accolade you receive. Thank you.

    Cheers,
    Grant

Default +1 for the Yay for Helen Harris

    I couldn't agree more.
It is very refreshing to find someone who knows their subject and sells the appropriate gear to the beginner. You'll find plenty of dealers who sole-source a brand and add exorbitant 'Australia-tax' to their prices just because they think they can [thank goodness for the Internet and $1000 GST-free limit for those dealers!]. Their 'service' is usually a referral to the website of the manufacturer.

Not so for Helen. I found her engaging rather than pushy, helpful rather than "Here's what I sell...", and her products are affordable!
In fact, I think it would not be any kind of stretch to say that I actually got into scrolling BECAUSE of her helpfulness. And I'm glad I did. In most other instances, Australian sales folks have been obstacle to overcome and be endured - they should definitely take a leaf out of her book!
    Thanks Helen

Abso-freakin'-lutely for all of the above.

I haven't bought anything from them for a couple of years, but I can say that without a doubt she was extremely helpful and I was gobsmacked at receiving the goods with an invoice, rather than having to pay up front. That's some old school business trust right there and made me feel so fantastic that of course as soon as everything arrived I've sent the dollars immediately.

Fantastic, high quality product...available "locally"...awesome service and advice...

A LOT of other businesses could learn a thing or two from this example...even just in their quality and speed of service.
