Help with Dremel 1680 scroll saw
Greetings from Texas!
I was given a Dremel 1680 scroll saw in non-working condition, and need some help on where to start looking for the problem. Everything seems to work, the motor runs, but the blade, which is correctly attached, moves down (one stroke) but will not reciprocate. I have a manual and parts list, and am fairly proficient at repairing things, but wanted to see if anyone could give me some ideas about what could be wrong or where to start looking. Thanks!

I'm guessing you haven't taken the side cover off yet? That would be my suggestion.

Thank you. You are correct, I haven’t yet started the disassembly. I’ve been hunting places which carry parts, and, by posting in forums, trying to learn what the most likely causes could be and where to start looking for them. Because of the issue I’m having, I thought it might be something in the head or lower part of the tool, but I will take your advice and pull the side cover off and see what I find. Again, thanks for your reply!
