help with old ezycut scrollsaw
found an old ezycut saw at a garage sale last weekend for a huge $10 & have a few questions for my scroll betters .
#1 Is this a good useable scrollsaw , I've never used one before but it looks good to me.
#2 would this be a good unit for cutting patterns in 6mm - 12mm red gum.
#3 as you can see it needs a motor I've got a 1/4 HP 960rpm elect motor under the bench would this work on the saw or do i need something smaller.
thanks for your time.

#1 yes
#2 yes
#3 yes though I think maybe some way to vary the speed would be good. As a beginner the quickest way to lose interest is if it goes too fast and you're unable to control the cut. They don't need a lot of grunt as the blade needs to do the cutting so maybe try a sewing macine moter and use the foot pedal to adjust the speed?
