Hi all
Hi all,
I'm new here, but not so new other places. Glad to see some folks I know here, and looking forward to meeting everyone else.
For those that would like to my latest work stop by my site at: http://www.z-monsters.com/scroll_work_2.htm

Thanks Brett,
You wood be one of the folks I know. You had asked me how thick my bluestain relief was (sorry I hadn't answered earlier ). It is about 12-15 mm thick I wood guess. I've got the frame all glued up now. I just need to put some kind if finish on it and glue the piece into the frame, and it'll be done.

Hi Ian
I don't think you kow me as well as you know some of the others here, but I've seen quite a few examples of your work and I appreciate your skill. It's good to have you around.

G'day Ian, so when are you going to start posting pics on this forum?
There's a few folks around here looking for ideas to pinch.

Gill,
Of course you were one of my friends that I reconized from other places!
Skew,
I don't know the local etiquette on where pics go around here, so if this isn't the right place let me know. Since its already been mentioned here is 'bluestain'.
Pattern from "Scroll Saw Relief" by Marilyn Carmin. Wood is bluestain pine finished with 1lb cut sahellac and Deft gloss spray on.
Lin,
Great to 'see' you here, seems like you're everywhere!

Nice choice of material! From a plan, or did the timber itself inspire the design?

Skew,
I can call you Skew, can't I?
You must of missed the 'Pattern from "Scroll Saw Relief" by ...' part of the above post. You only missed it because you were posting at what, midnight or was it later? Perhaps it was a tad past your bed time. I personnaly have never made a mistake like that in my entire life. Nope, nope, nope, never, not even once. Thats my story and I stickin' with it.
Seriously though, here is a linky to the publishers web showing the book.
Its still very much Friday here, but happy Saterday to all on the other side,

Hi Ian,
Welcome to the forum. That's a terrific looking piece, well done. It would be good if you would give a brief explanation as to how you get the relief. I know.......it's in the book. I just don't want to buy the book just to get the answer to one question.

Hello Ian, not sure if I know you from other boards? lol Chances are... well if you know Lin and Brett.... you probably saw me... somewhere....
Chris.... just in case your question is overlooked... real simple explanation of the relief dutting
you tilt the saw table to one side and depending on the direction you saw ( clock or counterclock wise) you can push the pieces forward or backward.
now sit back and wait until Lin gets to the full explanation ... she is master of anything to do with scrolling (taught me a lot) and also knows how to write ( she's been published ! )
