    Default Koala

I finished cutting this Koala in walnut yesterday ,and today I put it in the frame.
The frame is from chestnut bark.Actually it is a rather beefy slab with some bark on one face. As you can see in the pics the thickest part is 6 cm ( 2 1/2") and I had to push it hard to move on the saw table as it touched the upper arm housing. And I should confess that I admired the power of that Herkules 405 E saw which I didn't expect it would be able to cope with this slab, but it acted as if it has a governor and producing the required power automaticly.
I sprayed plywood in black as the backer of this work.
I have been posting on this forum for over a year now and as a pay back this is my first Aussie animal pattern and cut from it.
    Thanks for looking.

Excellent job on that Seyit. I really like your choice of how to make it. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Sorry,Brett.I couldn't get the point.I know what thong is,but is it a symbol for being Australian? And /or does it have some relation with honorary degrees in Australia?
I am not so familiar with Australian culture,so I beg your pardon for asking these.

Seyit thongs are an absolute necessity to be an Aussie. I'm sorry for butting in to this, but I have just found your work, it is mid boggling for a simpleton turner like me. Beautiful is all I can say about everything I've seen.
