Magnifier lights - 220/240v
I am using a Carba-Tec 18" (Hegner style) scroll saw and need a magnifier light to attach to my saw stand.
I guess 2x magnification would be sufficient.
Any advice or recommendations ?
Thanks.

have a look at "Daylight " lamps, they have lamps of different types with seperate acrylic magnifiers attached (or not)

Be carfull.
I bought a magnifyer light combination some time ago. I don't know what the magnification is. It works very well but the frame / support or what ever you might call it is very flimsy. As a reasult the slightest bump and it wobbles for a few minutes and I either have to wait for it to settle down or touch with my hand to steady it. It becomes a damd neusance.
Just the same I use it all the time and wouldn't be without it.
I have seen one at Hare & Forbes for something like $100 and it has a nice solid frame on it and looks as though it can take a bit of rough handelling. I don't know what it's strengh is

Only way around the wobble is to attach the light to a different table. I have my saw stand sitting right beside a work bench and the light is attached to it.... works for me... but only at home... away from home I squint!

Light
Hi All
I use a magnifier light from SPOTLIGHT who are everywhere
Mine cost less than $50.00 delivered
The only change i made was to change the globe to a daylight type which gives a white light
Works well

I sit outside SPOTLIGHT while my wife fossicks for "stuff" and never gave them a thought when it came to a magnifyer lamp. 'Next time'.
I noticed a line in Patrick Spielman's publication "The New Scroll Saw Handbook" that suggested 'red' pencil was easier to follow than black. I haven't tried red pencil but I will give it a go if I can find one. I suppose personal eye colour recognition may also determine whether a red/green/blue lead works better for you.
Thank you for your comments.
