Does the trupro need adapters or extra clamps?
Do you know what type of blade it takes?

Hello Speedy ,
to several folks yes... the Trupro needs the Hegner adaptors/clamps .... several of them said without them the blade change is just too tedious.
It takes the pinless blades .... we wouldn't tell you to get any saw with pin blades... specially when you're planing inside cuts. A lot of folks look down on the saws using pin blades, but we've got an old "bush pig" ( Ken's words) and it's good for thick and straight cuts.
Blades as you probably already know can be had at very reasonable prices from Harris Traders.... we get all our blades from Helen... and you'll like her.... she's also very speedy!

Hello Jenno
I have just picked up on your conversation with Juvy.
I have had my Tru Pro saw now for 4 or 5 weeks and I am very pleased with it. It is very smooth to use as in far better that any of the other 4 saws I have owned including Makita and Delta.
It sounds as though the aditional clamps are worrying you. I have the Hegna clamps for my saw. To look at them you would think that they are the same as the ones supplied but there is just that little bit of diference in their design that make blade fitting just that much more acurate and easy.
I know that they are a bit on the expensive side but I wouldn't be with out mine.
The rest of the saw is is well made and comes right up to my standards. And after four saws that is pretty high
At first I was fingers and thumbs with fitting blades but now I am used to it I can slip new blades in as easly as any other saw and the blades stay there unlike the saw I had three times back.
I hope this will help to confirm your Tru Pro decision.

Arghhhhhhhhh........... thought you'd have bought one a loooooong time ago....
Just found out a couple of weeks ago that WMS has their's on sale for just $325!!!!! Identical to the Trupro!!!!!
Also..... don't forget... you need to get the Hegner clamps to be really happy with the saw! I'm glad you got a good one tho... nothing worse then getting so frustrated with an inferior tool that you loose interest in the hobby!

Well Juvy I would have, but enough of that lol. yes I see what you mean about the clamps. The WMS saw is same but is $325 for ex display stock. I have one question tho, how do I make getting the metal clearance insert out easier, when changing blades or repositioning in work.

That's the first time I heard about problems with the insert. Is it just tight or fumbly to get out?
Oh Jooooooohhhhhhhhnnnnnnn..?????? This is a question YOU can answer!
