Meddings Jig Saw
I have been looking to purchase a new Scroll Saw and looked from the mid range priced units up to the Hegners and the Excalibur Ex-21 from Axminster Tool Centre, I then noticed a Meddings Mk IV Floor Model on Ebay a more industrial type machine.
This is a machine that comes with a solid cast bed of around 17" sqr a good working height on the stand and from blade to back frame 25" well to cut the story short I purchased it drove a 8 Hr round trip to collect it I had to put it in my vehicle in three sections the base, cast bed and machine itself due to the size and weight.
It came with the two types of blade fixings to accept blades with pins or the flat end blades the flat end blades just fit into clamp units and it is so easy with the top blade clamp being part of the tension unit it will take blades of all lengths so I do not require to purchase special length blades and when the machine runs there is no vibration the blade is cutting it a pure vertical cut for me this has been one of my best buys.
