Did I Miss Any Brands

Some of the threads in relation to choosing a scroll saw are now getting old and some of the Brands/ models no longer appear to be available.

I have read the threads, searched the net and come up with a basic list of scroll saws that appear to be available in Australia at this time.

I have an old GMC scroll saw that I enjoy using but the time has come to upgrade, hence the list compilation, to assist in choosing a new one. At this stage I'm leaning towards the Carbatec 18" scroll saw.

Are there any others that should have been added to the list ?

I don't think I can add an other brands to your list; it seems pretty comprehensive to me. Will be interesting to see if someone comes up with other brands.I know Aldi did sell one some time ago but was only a one off thing and I don't know what brand it was so guess that can't be really counted seeing as its not available at any given time.

A couple of places still list the GMC scroll saw as being available but I believe they are no more so I didn't list that one either.

I do a considerable amount of scrolling, started off several years ago with a Delta, but then progressed on to a 21" Excalibur, which I consider to be the bees knees! Absolutely no vibration and no maintenance. I believe Carba-tec now have them on special for $850 ( I think)
Go a long way before you'd find anything better for that price!

Carbatec website still lists them at $ 1195, haven't been in to check out the shop price due to the holiday period.

List looks pretty complete for what is out there
Wouldnt mind getting an Excalibur, seems to have the look of the Dewalt 788 that you cant get in Australia anymore (unless you find a second hand one). But I dont think the bank manager would allow it.
I currently have the variable speed WMS (which is like the TruPro) and pretty happy with that.

Carbatec Perth have the Excalibur 21" currently listed at $ 895 but are awaiting stock.

Gomez, you won't regret buying an Excalibur and if Carba-tec Perth is waiting for stock, it'll be well worth the wait, believe me!

Afternoon Scrollers.
This scrolling thing looks intriguing, but for starters, I'm looking to get a scroll saw to help me build some model vehicles. (But the bug might bite for trying other things.) I've been doing a little research over Christmas, and thought I had decided on the H&F Sheppach Decoflex, but I see on Gomez's list, the Jet JSS-16 is comparable.

Any opinions as to whether either is better? I'm probably going to look for a package deal with a small bandsaw, in which case H&F wins as Jet don't list one under $900.00.

Hi all
The Carbatec 18" is a great saw, smooth, quite and all Hegner parts fit such as blade clamps, bearings etc.

I also have a Ryobi the only draw back with it is the blade setup if you are doing a lot of inside cuts.
