    Default Nativity Scene

I know it is out of season but I need to start now. So I'm asking for help.

My wife has requested A nativity scene for next Christmas. I have checked a couple of sights for patterns but she hasn't seen anything she likes.

What she is after is something she can sit on a table indoors. She would like an exposed wood design in other words not painted and she would like animals people manger etc.

Can ny one help me with such a pattern please.

Have you seen the one Steve Good designed on his scrollsaw workshop site?

    http://www.stevedgood.com/nativity.pdf that's the link.

Just had a quick look. I think one of those would go down well at my place.

If you do any woodcarving along with the scrollsaw.....take a look at Lynn Diehl's book on the nativity....great design.

Another good yet simple design is at Meisel www.meiselwoodhobby.com

It's called the Shadowbox Nativity Scene #W1392. This is a 12 piece set, but you can add a few extra animals if you choose. The shadowboy manger is useless. You can either design you own or simply buy the manger itself. The set looks good without a manger as well.

I've cut a number of these sets out of clear pine, stored in a box I made out of knotty pine. Really nothing more than scrap from around the shop. Two years ago, I donated a set for a silent auction fund raiser, and it sold for $200.00.

The only design change I made was with the creche- the baby looked like he was about 17 years old, so I made a straight cut across and left it flat.
