    Default Pinless blade holders

    Good morning fellow workers
I have a Ryobi esw 1240 which after a bit of tweeking and bolting down with a rubber pad it is working very good
As the machine only came with one set of pinless blade holders i would like to have a spare set
I have obtained a set which WMC say fit a RYOBI however they are not in the same class as the ones i have and have to be bolted to the upper and lower arms to replace the existing blade holders which in my opinion is a step backwards as the ones supplied with the saw work perfectly
RYOBI say they dont make these pinless blade holders anymore and could not advise me where i could get them
Can any member advise me where i can obtain these blade holders please
I hope the photos appear clearly
    Thanks for your help

It would've been better to say "I hope the photos appear."

Can I ask why you need a spare? or is this just in case the current blade holder breaks one day?

Reg, interested also why you need a second set.

Having used the pinless blade holders that GMC supplied for my old saw, the type with a "bar" that you put over the "tongue" on the end of the arms, I reckon the bolt on type would be better anyway - the others were fiddly buggers to change blades with.

If the type you are using is like this & you want another set in order to have a couple of blades set up ready to go, I can see your point but IMO you're far better off having blade holders that are quick & painless to change blades with. Decent blade holders make changing blades a doddle.

If you don't like the bolt ons because you lose the ability to use pinned blades, it's no loss I reckon, decent pinless blades are far & away better than the pinned variety.

    Cheers..............Sean, not pinned down

    Reg,

By now you've realised that your pics didn't make it, it might be an idea to retry, so that we can be sure of what we're talking about (and not guessing).

If your adapters are the same as the ones that I got with my Ryobi, then you've got two little blocks that clamp onto the blade, and then you clip the assembly onto the standard pinned blade holder. Is this right?

If I'm thinking about the correct adapters, then if you want do pierce cutting (not sure if that's the right terminology), then you're going to find those adapters a pain in the rectum. I fitted the WMS ones to my saw because of this problem, and haven't looked back since.

The WMS adapters accept pinned blades as well.
