I was going to buy that same model, i asked my local carbatec reseller to order it in for me, they said it would be about a week. so i rang the next week and they said it would be another week. i rang each week for the next month...im STILL waiting for the call to say it is in...AND THAT WAS OVER A YEAR AGO!! Needless to say, i will NEVER go there to purchase anything.

My saw is the same colour as the one on the Carrol's website and I bought mine for a very good price. It could be worth a phone call....

PS I would not touch the Jet though as I was not impressed.
We've just purchased a Jet through carbatec 16" for $149 on special - brought it on Tuesday this week and guess what??? it's going back to today - it's a heap of rubbish - you can't change the blades - there was no manual in the box i had to ring carbatec and they emailed me one! .. so not impressed with the Jet brand or Carbatec!

I live in coffs harbour so my choices are limited, there is a toolex one, and a ryobi from bunnings, but i think these are both pinned saws.

    Thanks!
    Get any brand machine with
    1. Variable speed very important - for other materials like plastics or soft metals.
    2. at least 16" throat (bigger even better)
    3. Pinned blades scroll-saws are aceptable because adapters for pinless blades are either std accessaries (check) or available as optional extra. (I bought my adapters for Ryobi)
    4. Dust collection port built in preferred.

Tilting blade Scroll saws are easier to work than tilting table but they are usually too expensive.

I have an older delta that takes the pinless blades, and it works well, but only single speed.

Hare & Forbes have a scroll saw , on special at the moment a good buy at $149.00, (I believe), they also have a bulk buy ,
    scroll saw
    bobbin sander
    belt/disc sander
    table top router table &router
    All for $750.00
