    Default New to Scroll Sawing

    Hello Scrollers

Two days ago I bought a Carbatec Scroll saw. I am cutting 19mm radiate pine, it is proving to be hard work. I have cleaned all the grease off the table and this revealed coarse machining on the table which I polished out with 400 grit wet & dry, the pine slides well on the table. I am using 9.5 TPI skip tooth blades.

Does anybody out there have any suggestions?

    Thank you
    Gerard

A good idea is to put a non silicon based polish on the table. I use Johnson and Johnson floor wax from the 60's works well and won't affect the wood when you go and put the finish on. Might have to look for a similar product
