Second hand usually means someone elses problems, unless it is one that hasn't been used. Then the seller will most likely want top price. I suggest you go to Bunnies and check out the prices of new scrollsaws, they sell GMC, and I have had mine for years with not a problem.
The best scrollsaws take pinless blades, and that is what I am missing. They do the finer work. Make sure you get a saw that has lots of bells and whistles as they say, and once you know a lot more about what type you want, and the prices of new ones, you'll be armed for the market.
Second hand could mean some parts are no longer available for the saw, and those parts are on their last legs, so Buyer Beware.Buzza.

First question should be what are you planing on using the saw for? A Bunnings cheap one might do the trick....
Second hand doesnt' have to be bad..... I bought one for a friend a few months back and she's very happy with it, the previous owner just was ready to upgrade to an even better one.
