Scrollsaw pattern help
Could someone recommend some books or whatever that have patterns for the scrollsaw, I have just completed making the 7 Dinosaurs in the book by Downes which I must admit at my age gave me great pleasure, freestanding models such as these are what I am interested in, any degree of difficulty would be suitable as I have plugged away on various saws for the last 20 years and can still follow a line, or close enough, over the years I have enjoyed making various things which I spend hours decorating and finishing, now that I have slowed a bit I use the saw to create things that keep my hands and mind as active as they can be, I have a workshop full of tools that I have been lucky enough to be able to afford over the years being a tool junky but my favourite tool by far is my scrollsaw, value for money they are the best investment anyone interested in wood creativity can make, also I live at Banora Point, which is next to Tweed Heads, I would like to hear from anyone local with similar interests that would like some contact.

Firstly, go and see what Steve has on the above link. You will find a multitude of free plans that are all just great. He has a donation box if you have a bit of spare cash, but a donation it is.
The there is this one forbooks, books and more books. . .

I recomend that you join both of these places for newsletters and even free plans from Steve.Buzza.

Buzz and Mike
My first reply, hope it works, thanks for the information regarding the web site for plans etc, I will have a look and see what they have of interest, I do have a nunber of books but I am now seeking something a little different. Mike, regarding the sizes of the models, for example the T Rex is about 40 inches long, by comparison the Jobaria is about 40 inches in height, both are quite large and I was thinking of reducing them the next time I have a go, I do have a piece of advice it is regarding the assembling of the models: when I was putting each item together I was comparing the assembly instructions to the coloured photo of the finished model , this photo is at the beginning of each model section, if you look carefully you will find that in some cases the assembly instructions and the photo vary, they are not identical, for example, in some the tail curves upward in the instructions and down in the photo, some left and right hand legs and arms protrude forward or backward which do not match the photos, the parts will all assemble but do not look the same, however if you did not know you would not notice the difference, it is up to you, apart from that a lot of fun and they look great, I hope this helps you

Have you seen the books by Patrick Spielman on Scrollsaw patterns and techniques?

Mike is right.. there are several really good books out.
If you are interested.. I only have 3 at the moment, but I put orders in every 6 weeks or so.
Also.... have you checked for scroll saw magazines? One comes out every 3 months... the other every 2... most of the time they have a puzzle in them.
