    Hey guys,
I have been looking in the forum on the Scroll sawing and have seen some nice things done, just wondering how you cut the shapes out inside a solid piece of wood? Do you drill a pilot hole with a dill of how do you do it?

Hi and welcome to the forum your dead right a pilot hole is used I use either a small bench drill (I have a small GMC one) or I use my Dremel just depends on the situation you could use a small hand drill or small battary drill just make sure the piece is secured as it can grab and spin.

    Hi Ray,
Thanks for your response, so once you have the pilot hole drilled, do you take the blade out of the scroll saw and then put it through the piece of timber? Sorry if my questions are stupid.

    Hi Andrew,
you don't have to take the blade all the way out of the scroll saw.
With most models you leave the blade attached to the bottom holder, just take it out of the top and bend the blade a little to thread it through the hole..... then clamp the blade back in.
Some models, like the Excalibur you can do it the other way around.

Much easier to get all your questions answered before you start scrolling.... if you don't want to invest in a book, how about checking our your local library? I know ours has several good books on the subject.
