Tab and slot fretwork.
I like to do those old type patterns which use the tab and slot method quite a bit (fretwork mortice and tenon?). Usually invoves a bit of sanding with the slots to make a good fit, probably due to my cuts I guess. At our small scrollsaw club we have two members who produce good work, mostly insert clock stuff no tab and slot, using only spiral blades. I have noticed that after the inital cutting that they go back and 'fine tune' using the spiral as a sander.
I still cut with straight blades but now go back to the slots and 'fine tune' with a spiral. It works and is quicker.
Thought I'd pass it on.

I finetune with the regular blades when I have to..... it's too easy to take off too much with a spiral..... sprials and I haven't become close friends....... yet .... lol
