Tru Pro Saw
Just in case the people who own a Tru Pro or similar saws are not aware the saw has two settings for the length of stroke.
To change the setting you need to undo the screw / bolt at the end of the crank or at the end of the motor where the conecting rod attaches. There are two holes where the screw fits. The outside setting gives the longest stroke. In turn the inside setting gives the shortest stroke. If you are changing the stroke be sure that the washer is placed between the crank and the arm or you will get a knocking noise. It only takes a couple of minutes to make the change. I change the setting to suit my work at the time.
The short stroke is where the saw is delivered. This is the smoothest setting and is best for thin or fine work. The longest stroke is still smooth but is also best for thick material.
If you are making the change be extra carfull that you don't over tighten the screw and strip the tread
I hope this helps

To make it easier for all concerned a couple of close up pictures would help

Sorry, I made a mistake. The outside hole gives the longest stroke and in turn the inside hole gives the short stroke.
I don't know Jim if you mean for me to enter some photoes. If so I can't make the photo thing work the forum

Hi,
Try this link (to another forum and another machine - another Hegner look-alike).

Hopefully you will get a bit of a discussion and picture of altering the stroke length.
Hope it helps.

Thanks Bob for alerting us to the English forum on the Axminster saw. I would recomend anyone with or thinking of buying a Tru Pro to read the to and fro information on that sight. It is quite lengthy and the photoes of the stroke adjustment is towards the end. By looking at the photo you can just see where the second hole is and how simple it is to change the stroke. The photo explains it all.
If only I could get photoes onto this forum I would have done so and it would have made life a lot easier.
