Some advice on patching a small hole in plaster..
I was planning to remove a gyprock panel to do some work. Unfortunately after removing two of the nails in the plasterboard I came to the conclusion that their had to be a better way and found it. Trouble is now I have 2 holes about 1cm diameter in the plasterboard where the nails I pulled out used to be.

My question is whether I can just fill this with base coat and it'll be fine or do I need to apply paper like I would a normal joint?
Appreciate any advice.
