Currently researching waterproofing procedures and options and have a couple of questions if anyone can help:

1. Placement of floor waterproofing membrane. I have noticed that AS3740 provides the option of placing the membrane on the substrate or on top of the screed. I have noticed in the past that it appears that common practice has been under the screed (on the substrate). Is there any particular benefit to either method, and any recommended practice?

2. Water stops. I am planning an unenclosed shower in a corner with a single fixed glass sheet on one side - ie shower has no door. I am planning on mounting the glass in a aluminium U channel. However - if the waterproofing membrane is located under the screed - would you place a water stop (aluminium angle) both where the door would be and also under the side with the glass? Also - what would be your method of installing the aluminium angle for the glass - silicon and screws? Rebated into the screed?

3. Products. I have noticed some talking about the Ardex/Dunlop which appears to be good. Any other products anyone has used?

4. Planning on installing a shower channel at one end of shower. I have noticed that some manufacture in 304 stainless and some in 316. Obviously I would prefer the 316 - anyone recommend a good supplier Sydney region for a 900mm channel in 316 - prefer a lip for tiling (rolled edge if lip not available)?

5. Does anyone have any experiences or tips good or bad they would like to share ?
