Bleed-through Problem
We're planning to paint over a lot of the varnished woodwork around the house. I was going to use an acrylic sealer/undercoat followed by two coats of gloss acrylic. We haven't started the main part of it yet, but I've just finished painting the screen door and when I put the undercoat on there was a lot of bleed-through from the varnish....even though I sanded it all down pretty aggressively. The two top-coats covered it up fairly well, but there is still some evidence of bleed-through, which is made worse by the fact that I'm using antique white. Any ideas what I can do to prevent this?
